Slipknot Celebrates 25 Years of "Here Comes the Pain" Bringing the Anniversary Tour to Pittsburgh

On August 7, 2024 Pittsburgh had an intense night of headbanging when Slipknot brought their “Here Comes The Pain” 25th Anniversary tour with Orbit Culture and Knocked Loose to The Pavilion at Star Lake.

Starting out the night, Orbit Culture took the stage. Orbit Culture is a melodic death metal band from Sweden. It’s always so refreshing seeing these types of bands on a lineup, especially if you don’t know of them prior. The crowd loved their performance and vibed out real well with them which was so nice to see.

Next up was Knocked Loose and damn, they always put on a show. Opening with “Blinding Faith”, “Mistakes Like Fractures”, and “God Knows”, the band brought an insane, unmatchable energy. Every time Knocked Loose comes around, I personally do not miss them. Knocked Loose is just that band right now, and everyone at this show knew every word during their set. They are finally getting the recognition they deserve!

After heavy anticipation, Slipknot took the stage and made it a point to inform attendees “Every song we play tonight was not written after 1999.” Opening with “(sic)”, “Eyeless”, and “Wait and Bleed”, set the show off with a bang. This was my first time seeing Slipknot as a long time fan, and to anyone like me, this setlist was a treat. Slipknot knows how to put on a show and keep everyone in tune and on the same vibe. Mosh pits were opened even on the lawn, and it was none other than a great time for everyone.

Metal is alive and thriving, and this tour is only further proof that we are in a resurgence larger than ever.

Check out Slipknot on the remaining tour dates with Knocked Loose, while Orbit Culture is on Leg 1 and Vended will be joining for leg 2!
