Four Chord Music Festival Returns Celebrating 10 Years as an Independent Festival

On the weekend of June 22nd and 23rd, I had the opportunity to attend the Four Chord Music Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the first time!

The first day I was so excited, and the only complaint I had was the heat advisory for that day. Other than that, the first day was incredible with bands like Microwave, Four Year Strong, State Champs, and many others that made for a sick opening day of the festival. The cherry on top was definitely A Day To Remember headlining.

While walking around the festival you saw an abundance of food and vendors, my personal favorite being the mac and cheese. Concert-goers were the nicest as well! Throughout the weekend, I saw the same guy who made a bunch of different signs that always made me laugh. My personal favorite read “What time does Nickelback go on?” - that had me laughing for a solid 10 minutes.

To end Day One, A Day To Remember killed their performance playing songs like “Miracle”, “I’m Made of Wax Larry, What Are You Made Of?”, “Have Faith In Me” and of course, “Downfall Of Us All”.

Day Two was just as insane - starting off with Pittsburgh natives, Old Neon who absolutely crushed the main stage! This day's line up was so fun, drawing all the “elder emos” to their happy place! Having bands such as Something Corporate, The All American Rejects, Motion City Soundtrack, Relient K, and many more, the lineup for Day Two was definitely a treat.

All in all, Four Chord was a challenge, but in the best way possible. After all, is it really a rock festival without a few hiccups with the weather? The memories that were shared on those grounds were something I would relive over and over again, and I look forward to attending next year!
