Introducing: Static Meadows
The duo that’s new to you, but not new to making music together
Zac Newsome and Hunter McCoid have been making music together for 10 years already. This Tampa based band first started out as a group called Days on End. The at the time 12 & 13 year olds did covers on YouTube and eventually started posting original music. Once they started college, their musical endeavors paused. They have since regrouped as Static Meadows and are making more original music than they can even handle putting out.
Their recent release “Soda Pop” is exactly the “slimey rainy rhythmic-funk smothered in the sauciest of dreamy synths” track you need. Ever since it came out, it’s been on repeat! The track is a solid jam that can give you a glimpse into what future releases from the duo will sound like.
Hunter and Zac are ready to get all the Static Meadows music out to you as soon as possible. They’re currently working on getting an album out this winter, joking when I talked to them that December 2nd was the date. We’ll just go with “soon” for now.
I asked them what has kept them close all these years, not only as band members but as friends, and they replied that by now they look at each other like brothers. They talked about having a good life and band balance, ensuring that the time they spend together is spent making solid bops.
There’s a lot brewing with Static Meadows, make sure to keep your eyes open for it!
